There is a state public university located in Bhattiv University, Pathsala, Bajali district, Assam, which was established in 2019. This was done by upgrading to the existing Bajali College, which had a long history for its establishment in 1955. The university was named after Sri Sri Bhattadev, who is an important person since the 17th century.
Three-year UG programs in BA, B.com, and B.Sc. are available at Bhattadev University. A one-year diploma program and two-year PG MA and M.Sc. programs are offered. For undergraduate courses, admission opens in June, while for postgraduate courses, it opens in July. Admission to the university is determined by merit and is based on the applicant's achievement in former academic assessments as well as in-person interviews. Online applications are accepted for these courses.
- Candidate requirements for the BA program are passing the 10+2 or any other higher secondary exam with at least 50% from a board that is recognized throughout the nation.
